oil level sight glass compressor//OH DAXXXXXXX

my compressor, campbell housfeld 80 gall 3cyl almost 10years old/ so i noticed latly the plastic sight glass for oil level was weeping steadily, it had a hex shaped form so i figured to carefully tighten to stop the leak// WRONG// turns out the cheap plastic sight glass thingy is just pressed glued in place and yep it just came right out destroyed with less than 10lbs of pressure applied to it// leaking a freash quart of oil all over the shop floor

as a stopgap repair i picked up a boat drain plug and with slight mods sealed well tho i cant see the level now// working on a more permanent repair by using an old harley clear primary timing plug and an aluminin plug that i need to fabricate to install into the pump body
