Plug wires & plugs

Today I pulled a plug wire off my 85 scottsdale ( 350 Eng) and it made no difference in the running of it. I continued removing one by one and 4 of the 8 made no difference in the way the engine run. I am confused.
The dist is electronic and is putting out based on the spark from the wire to the cap. Has anyone had this happen to them & if so what was the fix.

The engine does not run that bad but I am confused as to why removal of a plug wire does not make a difference when it is removed.
