if you look at post 88 you'll see I have a basket for charcoal and wood, no electric in this one,it doesn't take very much to bring it up to temp with the insulation if you check out smokingmeatforums.com build section they have a bunch of info on building one.
Your Buddy was a Ford man,he was driving one of those black Ford Flex his wife worked with your wife when you all met.
