The posi is in

Well I got my posi installed today. Really wasn't that hard, but I was sweating that the bearing wouldn't get delivered today and the machine shop to press them on would be closed all weekend, but it all worked out.

I'm using the stock 3.08 gears for now. Alls I did to install was check the backlash and wear pattern, pull out the old carrier and switch over the ring gears, and put the new posi unit in. I rechecked the backlash and wear pattern and that's it. Took it for a test drive and it's nice and quite from what I could tell over the exhaust and other noise (even shut it off and coasted...but then the ring gear is driving the pinion, rather than the other way around like it is when you're on the gas). I didn't really test it out to see if it worked (both tires spin that is) cause I figured it needed some break in time, and spinning two big ol' 295/50/15 puts a lot of stress on it.
