Question No bump stops on front suspension???

Hi everyone i noticed in every pic i have seen people take off there front suspsnsion bump stops when running air bags. Why is this? To have it go lower? Or no room for them anymore? Also the bumps stops are also the steering linkage stops so what keeps the wheels from turning real sharp??

*On a mission to lay body with still the original 4 way drum brakes *
