Plug change on big block w/AC - Tips?

I'm about to change plugs and wires on my 70 GMC 402 w/AC, and I'm sure others have been down this road before me... it looks OK except for the two on the front passenger side that are below the AC compressor.

Any tricks? Do I need to remove the compressor, or go at it from below, or just skin my knuckles and hope for the best?

Thanks,
Dave
