Updates on my 66
I finally made some progress on my truck over the holidays. I was luckly on having some decent weather to work. I was having problems with the tall valve covers hitting the fire wall. I just lightly sanded one of the fins with a softpad on a grinder and I had enough clearance. Also was able to finish mounting the bell housing to the cross member and put the trans in. I just put the old 3 speed in just to get it up and running. I need to move this truck to our new house in a month.
So I do have time to install the 3 speed with OD yet. Still have alot of work before I fire it up and break the cam in. But it a little closer to running. Once I get to the body work; the truck will be a medium blue, with not much gloss to the paint. The motor should make about 385 hp and 415 ft of tq. Torque band is pretty low, the cam should start making close to 400ft lbs around 2200 rpm. it should cruse real nice on the highway with the OD. alternator is just for mock up. Dont want that big pulley Sun gauges
