700r4 0nto a 283

I am gettig ready to put the 283 back into my 63 and I have purchased a 700r4 to hook up to it. My question is: will the starter that is on the 283 work with the trans? The starter bolts onto the block with bolts (3) that go into the block from the side as opposed to all the other small block starters I have had that have 2 bolts either staggered or across from each other. The truck has a 4 speed now, I know I need a flex plate .Thanks
