55-59 gauge question... using a temp or fuel for oil and volt

I did some searches and couldnt find out what I was looking for...
1st... I hate the idea of having an oil tube running into the cab, and besides that, my engine already has a elecronic oil sensor... so I was wondering what OHM readings the stock temp and fuel gauges (i think i already know the fuel is around 0-90) I was thinking about modifying the stock housing to adapt another temp or fuel gauge in the oil and amp slots...

anyone try this? I just dont know what ohms my factory 1978 pontiac oil sender and volt meter used...

I am thinking the volt just won't work, but i think i remember seeing someone rip apart a gauge and make an oil or volt gauge...

anyways, if anyone has a thread of hacking into the stock gauges I would love to check it out!!
