Vin plate

Has anyone been through the process of getting a new vin plate from the state? (Texas)
Owned the 72 since it was new so history is not an issue. Body shop pulled tag off the door area and we're not sure where it went. Thinking of the alternative to not being able to find it.
Frame has been blasted and powder coated so not sure I could find a frame stamp even If I find out where it should be. The motor is a crate engine so can't really go off that either.
