A C Control

I replaced the fan switch, relay and resistor on my AC. On the inside of the heater box duct work, there is some kind of control. It is about the diameter of a nickle, and is connected to the middle lever of the heat/ac control panel. It has a plunger on one end, which I assume controls something on the compressor. The other end has 2 spade type plug connectors. What is it and who has it?
Thanks, TF
