Lowering control arms or drop spindles?

I'm considering the control arms or the drop spindles from DJM.

The control arms have improved geometry for, but I should be able to make some of these improvements by repositioning stock upper & lower control arms.
1) If I only only want 3" drop, am I better off with the new lowering control arms or the drop spindles?
2) Can anyone share the pros & cons of each approach?
