Good parts hunting in Central Texas!
After getting my '80 2-wheel Blazer delivered on Friday I did a complete inventory and cleanup on it on Saturday to see what I needed to hunt bown. Lucky for me the list didn't get out of control.
I headed over to the pocal pick and pull today and was blown away at the ammount of square bodies on hand. Every year is well represented with plenty of nice trucks to pick over. What I pulled today- A set of body side moldings (needed the lower tailgate strip but the screws were rusted tight!) The polished aluminum sill plates that go in thr top on the top of the bed rails (they were scattered under the car with the cherry top thrown off for no reason- may go back for it even though someone busted the windows) A set of Chevy Ralley Caps A pair of GMC Ralley Caps (for my boss' super clean '85) A pair of skinny Van Ralleys with trim rings A super clean Delco AM/FM Cassette unit (knobs were found in a different van) An original 454 Aircleaner (to replace the rusty Edelbrock one) A new HEI dist. cap, rotor and black wires (for TWO BUCKS!) Caps for the washer and overflow bottles Tailgate cables and hardware A pair of red sunvisors A clean dash cluster with a factory Quartz clock 2 clean dash gauge bezels Have to go back and pick over a clean Blazer for the half roof, NICE tailgate and interior plastic parts around windshield and doors. I can see already nice used door panels are non-existant for these year trucks. I will have to findo out who sells the BEST new dash pads, doorpanels and carpet kits. Loving being able to find SO MUCH in one visit and it only costing less than a hundred bucks for EVERYTHING! |
