Hot Wheels Replica of My Truck.
I've been gathering the Hot Wheels 62 C10 to cut up and make into a replica of my 63 GMC. I finally found a few GMC panel trucks a couple months ago so I could get started. After taking 2 C10s and 1 GMC apart I cut out the front rollpan and the very back of the bed on a C10 and dropped it on the GMC base. I also had to trim the sides off the base as the GMC was slightly wider. Then I measured to see how much more bed I needed to add from the second C10 to stretch the truck to the back bumper of the GMC base. After it was cut I JB Welded it to the first C10. The next day I sanded the bedsides smooth and sanded the bowtie off of the tailgate and ground a notch into the back bumper to duplicate the step in a 60-66 pick up's bumper. After some minor tweaking and fitting it was ready for paint. I decided to use paint made for pewter table top gaming figures because when it dries it has a flat finish and shows all the details. It's still not finished yet, I need to finish the inside of the bed and I am still trying to find some wheels to match my truck.
