radiator overflowing

Ok I finally took the old girl out. She did great until I got home and shut her off. As soon as I turned her off I heard liquid hitting the ground. I thought it was tranny fluid, but it was coming from the radiator overflow nipple. i don't have an overflow bottle. The truck was sitting for about 5 years. The truck has a v6 305 what should I check first?
