your talking 2 different applications of vehicles here.
the Napco vehicle is designed and built for offroad use not as a highway cruiser. the other is capable of higher rpm's and different gearing and primarily for use in town and on the highway
those i6's could stay in those lower rpm's and just lug away all day .
I did sell for IHC and Pacific Truck and Trailer back in the mid 70's and did spec out off hiway units. also had a HD Hayes hauling logs off road
here is a pair of Pacific P510's that I sold in 74. bothe were carrying over 100,000 lbs net on a tandem axle trailer.
this was their inaugural trip out.
