Anyone ever heard of or used one of these engines and if so are they worth a crap?
i was reading through a summit catalog-its kinda slow at work right now and im bored and i saw something i was curious about.this is an old catalog from the end of 2002.on page 38 there is an engine listed called a Recon Chevy Crate Engine
it advertises 350 horsepower out of a 350 small block its remanufactured, dyno tested and the dyno sheet comes with it, a seasoned 4 bolt main block honed with deck plate, cast crank, keith black hypereutectic pistons, hastings rings,I beam rods with arp rod bolts, clevite main and rod bearings, melling hi volume oil pump,a crane hydraulic cam-222/220 at .050,fel pro gaskets, world products sportsman 2 heads, edelbrock performer rpm intake, dynagear double roller timing chain, oil pan, valve covers and timing chain cover all this for 3,195.00 dollars. im thinking of buying a new engine in the future and was wondering if this was good bad or indifferent.i am open to suggestions to.thanks in advance
