Elusive Driveline 'Bind'

88 V20 Suburban

I’ve got an odd, relatively minor driveline ‘bind’ in the Suburban that I can’t seem to pinpoint. Usually only happens when taking off under a load and only lasts for a few seconds. Also happens when I get into a situation where I’m a little off-camber and turning. Just feels like something’s binding up a bit.

Front and rear U-joints appear to be okay, front and rear wheel bearings seem to be okay as well. However, I did notice that my rear diff was about a quart and a half low and the fluid that was in it smelled a little on the burnt side. :/ Had one of the mechanics at work take a look and he couldn’t find anything obviously wrong with it. Naturally, when we took it for a drive, it wouldn’t do it.

Any ideas?
