Modern AC upgrade
I've been searching, but haven't found the answer. The 1980 (model 1981) squarebody crewcab project I'm working on has all the original heating/AC stuff in it. Now I've bought an upgraded 1996 vortec engine and this has an AC compressor on it from a 1996 C1500.
Can I just connect the old hoses to the new compressor? Anyone have the wiring schema? Do I need a new 'heaterbox' from a C1500 on the engine side of my firewall? All tips and tricks are appreciated, lessons learned and pics are even better! |
