New here - Quick question about rearend

Hi guys, I've been lurking around these boards for quite sometime now, loads of awesome trucks and heaps of great information here. So I thought it was about time to start an account since I am starting to make a little progress on my truck. It's a 79 SWB 2wd Scottsdale with a 454 with some mods which I will give more detail in a different post.

Anyways, mainly what I had a question about was; I have a 89 transam/firebird sitting right next to my truck that is being used for bits and pieces here and there and got to thinking the other day I would take the LCA's and Panhard bar off it and move it to my truck to add a little strength back there. Well, I didn't even think about just swapping the whole rearend.

My question is, first, has anyone tackled anything like this before? How much work would be involved in this and would it be worth it? Seems it would be to me, but maybe others can give me some insight.

Thanks in advance for any information!!

Dustin
