Shocks!

Got my truck back together last night, still need to drop another 1.5" - 2". If i do this my shocks will only have about an inch of travel left, not comfortable with that. And i have a bone to pick with several shock companies on summit, why do their so called lowering shocks have a longer collapsed length than their stock height shocks!? I put pro comps toxic shocks on yesterday which have a collapsed of roughly 9.25" would prefer something with 8.5" if possible, any help?? Truck is riding great other than that. Thanks again
