Gas tank blues

Ok, so I have an aftermarket fuel tank that I wish to place at the rear of my truck. I have already consulted this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=390845

My concern right now is that it does not fit due to the truck box frame.

Do I have to cut my box frame to make it fit?

If I cut the crossmember, do I reweld another support?

If you know of someone who has experience with this, can you please pm me his name so I can ask what they did.

Thanks,
