73-87 chassis questions....

Gentlemen! curious, im building a 48 GMC COE, and using a 76 chev 3/4 t chassis, has anyone had the experience of putting 1 ton duals on a 3/4 t?, it looks like it will fit with the drums fine but I question if it will have problems with rubbing against the frame? Wanting to use the 3/4 t because it looks like the rr would actually be a little narrower for fitting inside the older stepside box then a regular 1 t axel. Hope to hear some good answers! Thanks again!
