How much fore/aft wiggle room in cab?

My '59 is painted but at a standstill because I can't get the fenders on. I have the hood, doors, and inner fender on but when I place the fenders on, it wants to hit the door. I'm wondering if I loosen all 4 body mounts, can I possibly slide it back a hair? How precise are the bodies to the frame? Are they always in an exact spot? I bought shims for the front mounting points but that didn't seem to help.

If I ever get past this point, the truck will be on the road in no time. Help!

Jeff
