Didn't mess with the dipstick, but did get the clutch slave in, and got to take it for a drive! It was only down to the end of my road and back, but she was totally under her own power the whole way.
It was shuddering any time I accelerated, so I think it is either timing, or the clutch. It seemed to idle fine, and if I kept the clutch in, it ran smooth, but the second I started letting it out, it started shuddering.
After getting it back into the garage, I backed it out again, and took a hose to her, so every time we look at it, we don't end up getting dirty. She looks pretty sitting out in the sun!
