Waiting....Waiting...Waiting...will I ever get it?

A few months ago, a fellow board member that I met at a car show made me an offer to buy his '72 2wd Blazer that is in UNBELIEVABLY good shape. After he emailed me pics, I realized the Blazer was EXACTLY what I was looking for when I started my search. A few weeks later, I made the drive to his house to take a look. And I had to have it. But it was around Christmas, and funds were tight, so I worked out a deal with him to buy it... but I wasn't going to give him all the money until I got my tax return. So, I've been waiting...

And this has been tough, because I am pretty excited about getting started on it. I've been parts collecting/dreaming/planning/and getting ready.

The board member, turned out to be one of the nicest guys I've ever met. And his word was like oak. Rock solid. I've gotta say, this guy is a class act. To be honest, I don't even know if I would've waited this long to finish a deal. But oh well . . . I appreciate his flexibility.

Anyway... I finally completed the payment on the Blazer, and I contacted the shipping company to schedule a pick up to deliver it to my dads house in West Virginia. (paint shop-haha) And I started waiting... again.

So, I got a call last Friday and he said he had a truck scheduled to pick it up on Sunday. I would have it Monday. So, I kept waiting.

Sunday came and the pickup happened and it appeared my wait was almost over... but I guess a plate on the trailer broke and he had to take it to a shop to get it fixed. So I was stuck... waiting until today when he could get on the road.

Well, the schedule was interupted once again around 5:00 this evening when the shipper's truck broke down. It is now locked up (still on the trailer) in a storage lot at a Chevy Dealership in Princeton, WV- 35 minutes from my dads house. So, we are left waiting ... one more night for my Blazer to arrive. (of course, I am in NC, so once he takes delivery of it, I'll still be waiting) But, after it gets there, I will be going up to play with it a little. After all... I was so excited about finding it, I didn't even drive it the day I went to his house.

This is what it looked like the last time I saw it...
