that is a beautiful old truck, i'd say just enjoy her as is.

but if you REALLY need more ground clearance, my suggestion would be just some bigger rims and tires for those occasions when you go off road. a locking diff combined with rear body weight (unlike a pickup) and you should be able to get off the beaten path with ease.

i find my 72 burb 2wd has all the ground clearance i will ever need, unless i got into rock crawling (in which case a 4x4 CJ would be a better choice). i'm curious, does your truck have 3/4 ton spec rear coils (a factory option) or is it just they haven't sagged yet? i know the HD rear coils are the way to go if you tow with your burb since the extra body weight has a tendency to make the rear sag over the years.
