Lwb to swb, taking a different route

Half way through my build and I've decided I'll buy a truck to haul my 4x4 and use my 67 as a dd/weekend warrior.
My delema is my frames all powder coated and the cab/front is all together..
Can I cut 20" off the back and redo my trailing arms/dshaft? Any issue to clearance or fit? I know things will have to be moved but asking as the short fleet will still fit on the unsectioned lwb frame I'm calling it a done deal...
And I know that the trailing arms being shortened (making mine from heavy wall tubing) will place my airbag/coils inside the frame and that axle pert he's will have to be moved.. That's no big deal
Just hoping that the short box will still fit on the front of a unsectioned long box frame
