292 carb issues

The other night I was coming home on the highway and the 292 was running fine when I pulled off on my exit. At the top of the off-ramp it stalled and would not restart. When I opened the hood it was gasapalooza with fuel dumping out of the carb. Got the wife to tow me home, and I pulled the carb. Suspected the float but it seemed light still with no apparent holes. Sprayed it out with carb cleaner and bolted it back on with the same result. Any advice on what I can check or clean in there that would cause the fuel to flow freely without stopping? I believe the carb is original and it is labeled as a Rochester monojet. Do I just get a rebuild kit?
