Questions on Headers

Ive been hearing people buying mustang headers and chopping the flanges off and rewelding on ls flanges. So would a mustang that has an ls1 conversion, Headers bolt directly on? Or is the angle that people weld the flanges on any differant?

And is the only problem on the fitment with the newer f-body headers that they hang below the frame a little bit? If its just a few inches that's probably livable. Thanks
