Lets see your stepside bumpers

I'm having trouble finding the right configuration for my stepside rear bumper. The previous owner gave me these brackets but I don't know that he ever connected them to the truck.

I've read other threads who said that one of the two brackets per side should be on each side of the frame rail. I can sort of get things to fit, but the bumper sticks out WAAY to far and they just don't look right.

The few pictures I've been able to find show that some people have a very different looking bracket setup than I have. Does anyone have a setup like this, and could share pictures of how their brackets attach to their frame?

Also, pictures from above to show the distance that the fender sticks out would help alot.
