Mount rad fan without removing rad?

Is there a way to put the get the radiator fan in without taking out the radiator? I was able to find one that should fit my truck and I did a little test fitting and can't get it around the fan with the radiator in. I've never removed the any part of the fan (looks like the stock belt driven fan on the 350 in my 64 C10). It has the long bolts that look like they're only holding the fan fins on, but I'm afraid to remove them in case it does more damage I can't see. Do these bolts just hold the fins on? Taking the fins off might make all the difference.
