most time is lost in prep and when you want a high end paintjob they realy have to hunt down all the little greases scratches and dents , nobody likes sanding and thats why they usually only do it for 2 hours a day or so before moving on to other projects

I totally agree. We did 5 coats of primer on my blazer to get it smooth. And we thought it was going to be good after the first coat but it takes a lot more to make it smoooooth
