Thank you duct tape!!
Went to the mountains today to get a load of firewood and test out my new gears, axles and flatbed. Got a full load way back in the hills. Anyway I was coming out and just started to climb the hill on the way home when I hear splooosh. I smell anti freeze so I pull over and shut the truck off, pop the hood and sure enough, my upper rad hose blew a hole in itself. So now I am on the side of a dirt road, 54 miles from town and 10 miles from cell service. I scrounge around in my truck and find a plastic western family grocery bag, but now duct tape. As I am looking a guy pulls up and asks if everything is ok. I tell him the situation and ask if he has any duct tape, he just smiles and says "I never leave home without it." I wrap the plastic bag around the hose, then tape the snot out of it. I pull the thermostat and leave the radiator cap loose and add 2 gallons of water from the crick, and drive the 54 miles back home. Tommorrow I guess I get a new hose. Thank God for duct tape and the kindness of strangers.
