1 tons or not

Trying to decide if I want to swap out the axles on my 83 k10.This is my daily driver and I really don't do any major wheelin' with it.As of right now it's stock suspension with 32x11.50x15 tires on some 15x10 mickey thompson classic II look alikes.I'm wanting to run some 35s and no bigger.Ihave a 4" lift to go under it and I have the D60 & 14bolt which are 4.10. If i stay with 1/2 ton or go 1 ton I still want to regear to 4.56. I've got stock 350 TBI 700 trans and 208 transfer.Any input,pros-cons or opinions would be appreciated. THANKS
