Gutting Doors - Need Help

Hey Gents!

How's it going. I scored some perfect factory 91 suburban doors (Manual Mirrors), and I am disassembling them so that I can paint the jambs because the paint/prep seems to come out much better that way. I will just prime the outside for now because it will be another year before I'm ready to paint the whole exterior.

Now to my question: I managed to get everything out, but I'm having trouble removing the exterior handle. I removed both 3/8 bolts, but their is a latch and rod preventing it from coming out. How do I get this handle off?

Thanks-

BLUE SQUARE
