Floor pan differences?

Hi everyone, I just picked up a 1978 C-20 and it is in need of some new carpet badly. I was checking around and there is a year break of 73-74, 75-80 and 81-up. I was under the impression that the floor pans were all the same from 73-87. Why the different part numbers for the carpet kits?

If it ain't broke, there is still probably room for improvement.

Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?
