My chevy/cummins 2 to 4 swap issue

Not sure where to post this so here goes. I have an 86 chevy 2 wheel drive crew cab that I am making into a 4x4 and doing a cummins motor in. I got started on the front axle tonight, its a 1990 dodge dana 60. I am wondering about spring placement, the dodge axle is an inch wider than what a chevy axle would be, do I mount the springs about the same width as the chevy springs and just push the centers out to hook up the dodge axle or should I mount the springs straight on the axle and maybe use offset rear shackles to hook up the springs? The front brackets can be put any width but the rear attachment for the shackles would be out too far and would require an offset shackle i think. And to add even more drama to the situation, after measuring and remeasuring I find that someone moved the driver side spring perch in 3/4 of an inch, so on the driver side the spring will fit better than the passenger side. So, I am thinking that if I mount the springs the same and spread them out to match, the axle might have a tendency to move sideways a little. Maybe it would be better to move that driver side perch out and then if I flex the springs apart to hook them to the axle, it would stay centered. Anybody have an idea on how is the best way to proceed?
