Th350 transmission PAN

Well I started up my l6 250/th350 for the first time today in my 67 chevy truck. Still needs work before i drive it but transmission started LEAKING! Yup it has a lil hole enough to leak out alot when running. Went to the Salvage yard and found nothing but tore up pans and I dont want to keep spending money each day till I find one. So I was wondering how those aftermarket CHROME plane jane pans work? any PROS AND CONS to them? They are around $20 at the truck shop. I try to use as original as possible but am on a budget to do it right first time around. I am already out $20 on trans fluid hahaa
