turbo 350 swap

Alright well after messing around with the standard saginaw i finally gave up on it, its just to much of a hassle, i went out and got a turbo 350 all i need is the stall and a couple other things .... but ive got a couple questions

1) would it bolt up to the L6 230 ?
2) would i need to shorten the drive shaft and will it fit right
3) do i necessarily have to cut out the original crossbeam to fit the new transmission in place and also what other modifications would i need to support the transmission
4)as for cooling the auto trans is it better to go with the trans cooling system or go with one that is integrated in to the radiator?
5) (just curious) what causes an engine to turn off when the standard transmission is not in the proper gear? and why does it not happen with automatics?
