Rear end slop

Maybe I just used bad search terms but I couldn't find good info on how much slack should be in my 12 bolt 4.10 rearend. When we reinstalled my axles after the brake upgrade I was messing around and the yoke will spin I would guess ~3/4" before the wheels actually engage. What type of tolerances are normal here, and is there other problem areas if tho is out of tolerance besides a rebuild/resetting of gear lash?
