P/W door glass adjusment

I apologize if this has been covered, I did a search and came up with nothing.

Some wonderful person decided it would be great fun to smash out the drivers side door glass in my 87 short bed chevy. I went to a junkyard and got another glass and replaced it. However I'm having a problem with the window adjustment. They are power widows and when I roll the window up it seems to work fine, but when I go down with it the glass goes about 2/3rds of the way down and the front roller in the track comes out of the track and the window stops. I have tried adjusting the p/w motor but it still wont work. So my question is how can I adjust this? Do I need to do something with the big coil spring to get it to work? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
