How do I remove the HD carrier bearing?

My 3/4 ton has what appears to be the "heavy duty" style of carrier bearing, and I need to take it all off before I can powder coat the driveshaft (and I plan to replace the bearing).

If I could see the bearing, I'm sure I could figure out how to press it off, but I can't get to it because its enclosed in a rubber housing that is in turn enclosed by a metal carrier that bolts to the frame or crossmember.

The driveshaft also has a tin "cup" before the splined section begins, and I don't know if this will come with a new bearing or if I have to preserve, which might be hard on the press.

If someone knows the methodical and correct way to disassemble this, please let me know!

Thanks,
Dave
