Stock 327 Rebuild Options-Cheap!!

Needing to rebuild my stock 327 in my 68 3/4 ton.

Wanting to bump up horsepower and torque without breaking the bank. Stock rebuild in my area is about $1700.

What would you do for another $300 to make it go..?

Figure I would need a newer intake and camshaft just don't know what i can get away with using the stock style lifters/rockers etc. What intake would give me a few more ponies for the money?

Figured I would do header regardless but instake and camshaft?

Give me your thoughts....thanks,
