New guy from NW Wisconsin

Greetings! I've had my '72 C20 (Old Mustard) since turning 16 in 1986 when we got it for mowing lawns. We did a paint job on it back then, replaced the original steel floored bed with a wooden flat bed, went through a few sets of tires, etc. My folks were hoping to find us an old 6cyl automatic truck for this job, but Old Mustard was the best thing in the price range, which much to my brother's and my delight, came with the 350 4bbl, 3 speed manual, and 4.57 gears. Since then, it's been bouncing around the family, and has been with me now for 15 years or so. I've been slowing gathering parts for it, as the cab floor is quite rotten, but it just hasn't made it up the priority list now that I'm a family guy with house projects, kid schedules, work, other hobbies, etc.

Until now! My wife and daughter are getting into horses and want to be able to pull a horse trailer to and from shows, rides, etc. My wife can't really drive a stick, and Mustard has gotten pretty rough around the edges over the years. So it's now time to start putting some time and money into the old monster. The manual trans will be replaced, the glass packs will go, the floor will be repaired, the loosey goosey power stearing box will be replaced, and a few other odds and ends will need to be taken care of. Dang thing might be almost civilized after all this.

I can't wait to get started.

Nick
