New from Houston, TX
67-72/ HPT/PT/ RGVTP/ QST/ FSC
Hey everybody, I'm new to this site from Houston, TX. *I joined the site last week a couple days after I picked up a 68 Fleet-Side C10. *Here's what I know about it so far : 68 C10 CST Spec's Vin CE148S207402 W/ Base 127 SE (Blank) Model Identification Number CE10934 Engine Code V0426TCK Vin Breakdown C - Conventional E - 8 Cylinder 1 - 3,900-5,800 * *1/2 Ton 4 - Pickup 8 - 1968 S - St. Louis 207402 - Vehicle Number Model ID Number Breakdown C - Conventional E - 8 Cylinder 1 - 3,900-5,800 * *1/2 Ton 09 - 54"-59" Cowl to Axel Dim. 34 - Cab & Fleetside Pickup Box Engine Code Breakdown V - Flint (Engine) 04 - Month 26 - Day TCK - 1973 - 307 Option # - Option 45?7AD -LT Blue/ Off - White 4N40VC - Power Steering 4A11CA - Tinted Glass 4618AD - Blue Vinyl Trim 4U63HG - Push Button Radio 4Z53GP - Ammeter - Oil Gauge 4C60DL - Air Cond - All Weath 4L30AC - 327 Cu In V-8 Eng 4B93AA - Door hEdge Guards 4Z84RL - Custom Sport Truck 4G80AA - Positract Axel 373R 4P01AA - Wheel Covers 4B98AB - Side Trim Mold Eq 4J70BD - Brake Booster Eq 4M49DG - Turbo Hydra - Matic 4H05AB - Rear Axel 373 Ratio The engine is obviously not original and not a 327 from that engine code, I can't get to the CI casting but I'm confident it is the 307. *It had a dead cylinder and the back 2 on the quadrajet would not open from a broken bracket in the way. *So, found a broke pushrod and replaced, tied the broken piece out of the way and now it's at least on all 8 and the back 2 open. *Still a turd though. Anyways, I got fairly big plans for this truck, going Monday to get a 350 started on the build, take it to 355, got some Edelbrock Victor Jr 23 degree Heads on the way, a Holly 750 Double Pumper, gonna forge the bottom end, some dished pistons bring it down to 9 to 1, and throw a Vortec blower on it with maybe 6-8 PSI, Billet MSD, nice boost cam, Hooker Super Comp Long Tube Headers, and probly a 2.5-3.0 Dual Exhaust. *It's got the 12 bolt rear end with a 373 Posi. *Then do a 4L80E swap with a standalone programmable computer. *Maybe a 4 Link Ride Tech. I also have a 2011 RCSB Chevrolet Iron 6.0/ 76mm Borg Warner Intercooled Turbo/ Custom Grind Boost Cam/ VVT Delete/ Dual Intank Aeromotive Fuel Pump/ 80lb Injectors/ 3.5 Mandrel Bent Single Magnaflow Exhaust/ QTP Electronic Exhaust Cutout/ 6L80E/ 3.42/ Tru-Cool Trany Cooler/ Tru-Trac Posi/ High Speed Drive Shaft/ 3/6 Drop/ Tuned by Flaco 10 PSI Cutout Closed : 565RWHP/ 597RWTQ Cutout Open : 609RWHP/ 653RWTQ The 68 I got to learn on, I'm not afraid to take it apart or work on it like I am my 2011. *My buddy is gonna teach me how to weld, body work, paint, and just plain work on it to learn. *I don't know a lot about the old schools or the new, so I am trying to change that. *Sorry for the long post, here's some pics, hope y'all enjoy. *Yes it is a Long Bed Made into a Short Bed, it was done real nice though, my buddy X-rays these guys welds at the plants, that's how I found the truck. *All comments and suggestions welcomed. -Patrick- 1968 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 2011 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bonus Pictures of my buddies Old Schools ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted via Mobile Device |
