TH200/700R4 checklist
I am going to keep my original TH400 on the shelf and run a built TH200-4R that I have. It ran 11s in a 4300lb car I had it in, so it should be up to the task.
I'm sure many have been through this kind of swap, but I'd like to accumulate a list of issues and items I need to think of. Please feel free to pile on this thread and add any info or suggestions I haven't thought of! - 4-spd column shift indicator (ordered) - carb bracket for TV cable (got one) - cooler lines (going to bend and flare my own) And a few uncertain items: - trans mount - have a new stock one, but will anything fit out of the box? - crossmember, does it need to move or do you just flip the mount around? - linkage - I'm assuming the original column shift linkage itself will work, no? - driveshaft - any mods needed? The 200 is about the same overall length as a TH350, rather than the 400. Will I need a new driveshaft, and if so, can I score something easily from a TH350 truck? - Yoke - need something to connect a TH200-4R to our driveshafts Thanks! Dave
