- Front fender & cab corner moldings use metal clips with studs that are secured with nuts on the back side. - Door moldings have a screw at the front and a stud-clip w/nut at the rear edge. The remaining clips in the middle are either springy metal type clips that snap into holes or the adhesive backed plastic clips. I believe GM used the snap-in clips for 69-70 and the adhesive ones for 71-72. - Bedside moldings have a metal snap-in clip at each end for all years. The remaining clips in the middle are either more snap-in clips (69-70) or the adhesive backed clips (71-72). The adhesive backed clips could be used in more locations than they were from the factory to reduce the number of holes. Especially on the front fenders. Quote:
