I think it's a great idea. I have a similar camera mounted on my K5 used for snowplowing. The rear glass tends to ice-over and visibility out the back is nonexistent at times. The IR camera works incredible at low light too. An issue for me is it is illegal to drive with a operative screen device in my state; I hard-wired the trigger wire (designed to go to the reverse switch) to a toggle so I can activate the camera when plowing.
