Seat belt dye

I picked up a set of brown GM seat belts from a fellow board member. I currently have tan belts in my 79, but i'm changing the interior to brown...and the brown belts i got are in better condition. However, they are faded in some of the common spots, so i'm going to dye them entirely.

I'm going to use RIT dye, and i'd just like to know if anyone here has experience doing it with RIT dye ? And what method did you use ? I'm thinking of doing the stove top method listed on the RIT website. I've read through the previous threads on this topic, but no one has really mentioned the specific method they used. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
